I bought a used q10 that I will be testing out for about a week before I ship it out to a friend.

Coming from a z30 so far not impressed.....screen is way too small in my opinion. And I cant get used to this keyboard anymore.....i type so much faster on the z30 virtual keyboard.

I used to have the bold 9900 and I loved the keyboard but I guess I just need to get used to it again.

Other than that bb10 is bb10.....same on both devices....

The Q10 has its use cases. It's my BlackBerry 10 device of choice even though the Z30 is a great option as well. For me, screen size isn't much of an issue and the physical keyboard is a great tool to have since I can type quite fast with it. The virtual keyboard on the Z's is the best I've had the chance to use, but there's just something about the tactile sensation of physical keys that make it so much easier to use.

Like you said, the OS is the same on both, but at least there are options.

All of that said though: if the Passport was available for Verizon, I'd change in a heartbeat for it!

Not really.....band 17 is only somewhat useful now as it's really only being utilized recently..band 4 is available on most Canadian carriers now and for the past few years when this phone along with all other bb10 phones were released ...anyway no big deal I guess.

Band 17 is the primary AT&T band in the US. I wish it were band 4 over here as that would make my -3 a bit more useful to me.

Have you tried moving the ear speaker around a bit? I know I had the same issue going from a Z10 to the Z30.

Where is "over here"? It's the 100-1 Z30 that was never released by BlackBerry and at&t, right? Too bad. That version had Band 17 LTE. For my Z30, I chose the 100-3 (which as Band 4 LTE), and was able to alternate it between Verizon and at&t due to the plentiful Band 4 coverage here in Chicagoland.

Over here is just to the east of you. S.E. Michigan. Unfortunately no band 4 local to me.

Yes, STA100-1 was the variant AT&T decided not to roll out.

I'm not sure if that's a fair complaint. I never had the Q10 but I imagine it's not much different from the Classic which is not bad by any means. The Z30, however, is by far the most exceptional sounding set of speakers for a smartphone. It's not a very fair comparison, in my opinion.

I tested the Classic, Q10, and Passport max volume playing uncompressed music at full volume over the speaker(s), and found that the Q10 is louder than the Classic with better sound and pretty much as loud as the Passport...
Didn't have a Z30 with me the time..

I've had all 3. Great speakers on Q10 & PP. The Classic was a disappointment, I moved back to the Q10 recently and loving it.

Where are you located? Would it be a SQN 100-1 by any chance? If so, I am interested.

With different numbers? None of Canadian carrier allows to use multiple SIMS with same number.

Different numbers, of course (and different carriers). One for the main, the other backup. In my case, the main number goes to the Q10, while the backup goes to the Passport. I use the Passport mainly for emails, browsing, writing and translating documents (I'm a translator), multimedia and voice conference. The Q10 is my main call, soc-med and texting device.

Been working wonderfully so far for one year since I bought the Passport, though I'm occasionally wonder about going single driver with a Classic. Lol.
