OP when people are taking time out of their day to try to help you it is good to be grateful and not snarky or rude. They don't have to try to solve your problem.

    Just as a thought:

Would it be possible to try (a sim card of) another carrier just for one day?

If you can reproduce the problem on a different network, we can eliminate your carrier (or the sim card) as potential cause(s).

    Note:
I know they told you they aren't blocking anything, but your case is quite unique and imho not related to the OS.

Thanks for the idea but this isn't possible as my phone is locked with my carrier.

Ive had this problem before. It was because of soccer ticker not being able to "connect to BBM"

My suggestion is to allow all native apps which asks to be connected to BBM to be actually and properly connected.

I am 90 percent sure this will fix your BBM problem.

Great, this is something new! Will try this once and will give a feedback.

Here's another case where BBM ate up my battery by downloading something without me even using BBM

Turn ON permissions and then open those apps to allow to apps to connect to bbm.

I believe the battery consumption will be fine after that.

    Let us know.

It's not that I do not use BBM. I use it though for a single contact only. And I can't just sign out of BBM because I'd need to sign out my BB account (as far as I know).

    CB on Q10
I have a Q10 and an iPhone 6 Plus, I'm signed out of my BBM on the Q10 because BBM only allows one device. My Q10 functions just fine the only thing I've noticed is that some BB apps like NY Time will ask to link with your BBM account but you can just ignore it and it continues to work just fine.

BBM still seeps deep thru the battery. For the last 48hrs, the app downloaded around 50mb of data.

I never let them connect to bbm and don't have that issue. But I probably don't have those same apps.

Unlikely that apps are affecting bbm in this way.

However, has the OP uninstalled all apps?

If the problem would be caused by an app, this would be the first thing I would check.

To me personally, it still seems to be some sort of a (strange) network problem, I would try another sim card (preferably different carrier).

No prob with the apps. I already reloaded OS and same problem still occurs.

I'm locked with a contract so can't switch carrier. Strange really because BBM downloads MBs of data and seeps battery.

I would look into how to create your own autoloader and omit the bbm file and see how that goes.

Correct. There is a bbm bar file. I'm honestly not sure if it would work, you may need to ask thurask or one of the people with more knowledge about leaks.

But if you create an autoloader without the bbm file, I would think bbm then wouldn't be automatically installed.

I'm not sure if I got you right but I am not running on leaked OS. Not a fun of this, I'd rather wait for the next official release.

Also not in my intention to delete BBM as I still use it.
