    Hi,

I come to you because I have a question about the AMOLED screen of the BlackBerry Q10.

I just bought a new Q10 French (the seller said it was new but I think it was reconditioned) and I am very suprprised by the poor quality of the screen.

Indeed, when I move very very slightly the phone, the screen AMOLED becomes very blue. I'm not saying to look at the phone completely beside it. If I move the phone only a few centimeters then the color becomes blue. And more I move it more it gets bluer. I have to be exactly in front of the screen for seeing the real screen tint.

I also have a Z30 and I could compare. The Z30 doesn't do that at all. I really have to be beside to see the blue tint appear. If I move the phone or my head slightly the tint doesn't change.

So I wonder, the Q10 usually has a bad AMOLED with an extremely low angle of vision or my BlackBerry Q10 is defective? I searched on the forum but I didn't see discussion talked about it...

Thank you for your responses, Q10 experts !

Hi, on my Q10, the colours don't drift badly until the viewing angle gets to about 30 degrees from perpendicular.

Thank's for your reply. So for exemple if you put the phone on the table and you sit just in front the colour doesn't change ? Or little ?

Have looked at screen on my Q10's. Did not notice any appreciable difference at viewing from an angle. I must admit that I use a L O W brightness setting.

It's quite easy to replace the Q10 screen, amongst other components.

Yes maybe... But it's not without risk for me haha...
Here you can see some pictures who show the problem. Do you confirm it's not normal ?

Q10 is lcd not amoled.look like you might have viewing angle problem of lcd, that can not solve by software. The best bet is to replace the lcd, (make sure you get the authentic part for replacement) , amoled as led, the viewing angle is much wider, the possible color change would be degradation of one of colors led, but not due to viewing angle change. Besides, it does not look that bad based on the image.

Agree, I was wrong on Q10 display. The spec showed amoled, but do you see the image look like amoled posted by op? Have you see the viewing angle effect in color of led that much? Don't tell me someone fake a Q5 as Q10, or a repaired unit. ( Q5 use same pixel count but lcd.. Metter of fact, it doesn't even look like ips lcd, it just look like cheap lcd). IMHO.

I watched videos about Q10 and in lot of videos I can see the view angle problem... Finally maybe it's a problem for all Q10. The problem is very visible for white colors (like my wallpaper or the HUB) not really visible for dark colors (black wallpaper for exemple).

Look like oled got color problem either pink or blue. S8 wall paper in reddish pink for a good reason. (thought was a bit strange they didn't use the baby blue like most of Korean ads).
