After many hours of consideration and a price comparison I'm finally expecting my BlackBerry Q10 and because I don't mess around I decided to order a beautiful gold special edition from Shop BlackBerry here in the UK.

I'm far too excited and also scared I won't be able to pull the gold off. I mean my bank account certainly didn't like the gold variant but it'll go very nicely with my Mont Blanc Pen, LOL!

However, I've done very little reading up on the Q10, I'm deeply in love with my Z10 and expect a entirely different experience on the Q10 but I'm wondering if there is anything I need to look out and/or consider? I've heard about Double Type problems, I mean is this throughout all Q10's or just a selected few? Also build quality wise how does the Q10 stand up? My Z10 is like a Nokia brick!

Fantastic. How's your son finding the Z10? Personally I'm only 17 and blessed with a fantastic marketing job that means I need a communication tool like a BlackBerry! As a teenager I never feel the need for many of the apps reviewers whine about! How's your son finding the 'app gap'?

Have my Q10 since it was released on vzw (it seems so long ago that I can't actually remember the exact month) and not a single issue at all.

I've dropped my Q10 so many times I can't count now - I know for sure it landed on cement at least twice. It always has a case on it and not a thing cracked, scuffed or what have you. I'd upgrade the OS to 10.3 as it runs beautifully on mine. I've never had a double typing issue.

Just thought you might like to know that the date you see is the date the phone was boxed up to be sold and not the production date.

As with the Z10 all Q10s were manufactured in 2013 and ceased production well over a year ago when it became apparent they had made far more than there was a demand for.

But that doesn't change the fact that Q10s manufactured right at the end may have been slightly better quality than those made right at the start of course.

When you get your Q10 loaded, just start typing on the keyboard....the name of a document, person, app anything you know is there.....your gunna looove the keyboard

There's a clear difference in the keyboard from 2014 phones vs 2013.

The date on the boxes also match the date on the phones (found inside the battery compartment).
