So I ordered a silver bezel for a white Q10 a few weeks ago and it finally got here, so I took apart my black Q10 and changed it What do you all think?

It wasn't too difficult to do, but you do have to be careful with some parts. You literally have to take the entire phone apart, the screen and bezel are the last 2 pieces to come apart.

I followed a youtube video which is pretty good.


And ordered my bezel from here:

Took a little less than 4 weeks to get here (Hong Kong to Toronto) and the tracking number they gave me didn't work, but other than that it's a good quality oem bezel.

Also I noticed some bezels online had the speaker connector in a different spot than mine, so watch out for that if you order one. I have an SQN100-5 and it's the same as the video and the pictures on ebay.

Very cool! You realize, though, that it makes the black Q10 look all the more like a 9900, right? For many, of course, that's not a bad thing at all...

Hi JMA,

That looks amazing! It gives it such a fresh look I feel. Also as Thunderbuck said, it gives it a 9900 look however to the eagle - eyed they'll need a double take then realise how special it is. Rare too, yours is the second one with this conversion I've seen...from here I'm sure more will follow.

Yeah it makes it look identical to the Bold 9900. It looks good but I will risk mine for a Gold or Rose Gold bezel

Thanks everyone! I couldn't believe so few people have done this, I love the exclusivity. Yeah It does look more like a 9900, that's fine with me though.

Funny thing is, I used to take apart my old Curves and Bolds all the time but for some reason I'm getting cold feet with the BB10 phones.

Probably because BB10 phones cost so much more than the old ones. The big thing is to not get nervous and be like "what did I get myself into? Am I going to break this $700 device? I'm an 1diot". If you do it, do it in a flat spot with lots of light and the right tools--not on the couch!

Yeah my confidence will probably bite me in the a** one day! lol But I'd love to see what a white Q10 would look like with a Black bezel! I'll have to try some photoshoping.

You could buy a white phone and swap out the parts, then resell the one you don't want and call it a "special edition". Just sayin'...

Not quite sure what part you mean exactly... Do you mean the back battery cover?
