For awhile now, the old time mmy phone randomly goes to emergency calls only. Doesn't matter where I am, battery fully charged. Lasts for 5 seconds then returns to normal. It does this every time I reboot my phone.

A few nights ago I had no Internet for about 20 mins( I'm with Bell- never had this issue in my life!).

Called Bell the next day and they said it likely was a SIM card issue.

Is there a program for diagnostics I can run? I found one in the app world but all seems normal.

    Thanks!

    That should read 'test'.

Yes, it's clearly a SIM card issue. Contact your carrier to switch it with a new one.

The first thing to check is that the sim card is firmly seated. A buddy of mine who switches between a Q10 and Z30 started having a very similar sounding problem, but only in the Q10. He had me look at it, and I could feel the sim card wiggle within it's holder. It had become loose with a the swapping. We slid a small piece of paper in with it and presto. All was good.

    I have a similar problem.

When they gave me the SIM (Wind), they gave a nano SIM. They had punched it out, then put it back together when they realized I needed a micro SIM. I've been having issues ever since, so their support told me to get another SIM.

I'll be going out ASAP as it is a frustrating problem to have.

i had the same problem when i was on 10.3.0.1154. emergency only calls and no data occurred quite a lot. i even went and changed the sim card for my q10. even the battery was weak on this OS (Vodafone)...6-9 hours per charge...!!!

on Sunday night i went on and loaded 10.2.2.1532 (German issued OS version) and it kinda works. no restore, loaded contacts with ContactX (import). No signal issues since than and battery improved to +20 hours. I will wait for the next 10.3.x.x leak to try it on.

My battery life is great! This has just been growing and other quirks now are texts sometimes take longer. I've not moved the SIM ever and to my recollection, have not dropped this phone. I will take a peak to see if it's loose and I plan to go to my SP to get a new one.

I do live in an old building and noticed when I'm near one of the big plaster walls, my reception goes wonky. I just turn around and presto, I have range. But the emergency calls only has been happening more often. I need my phone so will get thinks checked.

I only have a 9300 curve- I don't think this SIM fits into that to test it right?

Update: went and got a new SIM card - free of charge and the person at Bell showed me the original one in my phone and the wear on it! Wow! Had no idea. Since switching the SIM card. Everything is running much better!! Thanks everyone!
