On her brand new q10 my wife gets the clock displayed whenever reactivating her phone after having switched off the display. On my q10 this does not happen. She does not like this, would rather immediately see the notifications as I do, but the two of us have been unable to find a setting to switch it off (I assume that this must be possible, since I don't have this on my phone). Any hints?

Try going to Settings--> Notifications --> Lock Screen Settings.

    Toggle 'Lock Screen Notifications'

EDIT: It seems the time is show regardless of Toggle... only new (unread) notifications are available to view. But tap on the message icon on the lock screen once Toggled on. My Q10 shows clock, calendar events, and messages. But only messages when above is Toggle on; clock and calendar are always visible.

It turned out that the problem really was something else. Since she's not yet really used to BB10, she often swipes down from the top instead of up from the bottom, and then the clock shows (as well as it would on my phone if I swiped down instead of up).
