I've backed up my Q 10 phone prior to upgrading to 10.2.1.1295. Whenever I try to restore any content. The cell does not connect to network with the blackberry symbol. It does not appear until I reload again the entire new os. This is crazy
So all contacts are lost and whatever settings there were. Any help or reason why this happens?

What did you use to backup your device information? If it was with BB Link, network connection isn't required for data restoration. Make sure you have the current version of Link, put your device into airplane mode, start Link and restore.

I used bb link,what I'm trying to say when restoring I noticed I loose conx to blackberry or bis, the symbol disappears. I know I don't need to be connected. Even after restart I'm unable to use bbm. So should I put in airplane mode to avoid this while restoring?

A known issue with restoring "settings". The fix is to upgrade to an OLDER leak first. Back up on that leak. Then move to 10.2.1.1925. Then restore from that back up. Point being if the versions are "too different" the restore messes up your BBID somehow.

I had to move my wife's Z10 from the official Verizon 10.1 then to 10.1.0.1791 -- then to 10.1.2.1055.

Contacts are easily backed up and restored - including contact photo's.

Note that it doesn't back up phone settings or Password Keeper (upcoming Password Keeper upgrade has import/export).
