    If the device is unused, then BlackBerry would know if they looked it up for you (probably won't ) . Likewise, you may be able to find out the OS that the device was released with, which then would depend on it not having been changed during production.

    If the device has been turned on before (and therefore updated) then there may be no reliable indicator. Maybe if BlackBerry Link has been used with it, it may possibly display the last installed OS version, but it could since have been updated OTA.
    I haven't used BlackBerry Protect in a while (or maybe at all, I can't remember), but you could look there too on the off chance it displays version info.

    That's all I can think of.
