    Sound is muted whilst in locked screen, no ring tones. The Musical Note with a slash appears on the right hand screen; pressing this icon only dulls the icon.

    While unlocked try holding down the 'S' key for a few seconds and try toggling between silent and normal mode to see if it i fixes it.
