I have nearly 4 GB data (i actually calculated), while my BlackBerry Virtual Expert "Device Monitor" shows me total used space is 8 GB out of total 16 GB.

When i checked file browser to measure each folder properties. I noticed my Music and Video folder are duplicated. Which basically doubles the total consuption.
when i tried to delete some data from one folder, it got deleted from the other folder as well. Means they are actually the same folder.

Can anyone help me here. Please. I can provide you screen shots, if not understood.

Don't touch the files under misc/android. These are not duplicates, mostly symbolic links so that your Android apps work well.

The graph in your Device Monitor "Storage" tab is not clear enough ? (Settings > App Manager > Device Monitor)

There's 3GB to 4GB for the actual OS.

(If you add apps it will go up as well as cache data from apps...ect)

That's why it says 8GB because it's combined to your data on your device, which would of been different if you had stored some of your files on a SD card.
