Hi. How do I add a contact from a text received? I know how to do it from a phone but I can't do it from the text log. I've tried using the long hold-down but none of the options are 'add contact."

Click on the contact no/display pic and it should open contacts app.

Click on new at bottom

thanks sweetasnun....not working...I wonder if its because my text have somehow become "entering MMS mode" when I click on one (and I have no idea how that has happened).

right now, I hold down on number...on the right I see a > < and then share, compose, and then search. Grrrrr/

If you receive a number from a existing contact, then adding isn't possible. However if you receive a number from a non existing contact, press and hold on the number, then the option to add pops up.
