    Hello I got a q10 from ebay and got it unlocked but it doesn't allow me to turn on the hotspot or tethering saying roaming restrictions. I did turn on dat services while roaming and there is no help. Can someone please tell if one can unbrand the q10 something like removing the carrier logo when it boots and other vpn settings? Someone mentioned if you unlock and put a different sim you should see the sim provider logo or blank screen, but I still see the original carrier logo. I did unlock the phone thoo.

    Please help.

    that is odd, i know if i put mobile sim in mine i get a Tmobile boot screen and att screen for my att SIM. what model and SIM are you using?

    Didn't try on the Q10 but on my older bolds the start screen was always the one of the original carrier who sold the phone, even if I put a simcard from a different carrier...

    I don't think that's the problem, if your phone wasn't unlocked you wouldn't even be able to call... And getting rid of the splash screen (carrier logo while booting) is very complicated...

    I don't mind the carrier logo. I cannot do tethering or mobile hotspot as it gives me a restriction due to roaming and I did change the data roaming on. Still cannot enable mobile hotspot.

    If you are having problems tethering or using the hotspot is is probably the locked by the OS software. Upgrade to the latest OS such as 10.2.1.3247.
