I checked Crackberry almost every day. But I am still in need of some help. I am a 9900 user. Can any one tell me if you can file emails into different folders in Q10, just as effective as 9900? The "predictive" email filing feature of 9900 makes me extremely happy with 9900. I also use the track pad for copy and paste a lot, and Gmail Contact. For 9900, I bought a 3000 mAh 3.7V battery. So battery life is not a concern for me. I don't care about the screen size and number of apps. I got a lot of emails. I am more productive with my 9900 than my laptop, as I travel a lot. I am going to stick to Blackberry for next 20 years . The question is if I should stick to 9900 or move on with Q10. As you can see from the above statement, I am extremely happy with 9900.

From what I can see filing emails in Gmail at least, works very well. Long press on the email and a toolbar comes in from the side.

Help needed - Can you file emails to folders in Q10 just as effective as 9900?-img_00000036.png

Press the Folder button, I think it was second from the top. Then your folder structure pops up.

Find the folder you want and tap to file. You'll get a confirmation saying it was filed to the folder you chose and that's it.

Note: I filed that email in the screenshots and in the time wrote this post it was in the folder when I checked it on my HTC One. I can't imagine It being much different with any other IMAP accounts.

    Hope this helped!

This was the biggest sticking point in my staying with an iPhone instead of coming back to BlackBerry. Access to subfolders was a differentiator BlackBerry kept for BES users, meaning us BIS users simply did not get access. With BB10, however, access is granted and filing emails is a breeze! Now if they would just eliminate the 30-day limit on email visibility...

I never used it on my 9900, just filed emails on my PlayBook at the end of the day. With the Q10 I just do it directly from my phone. Very easy, really liking that feature on this device!

I did not know that filing emails to sub folders are not available for BIS users... Crazy!

BIS only performs reconciliation and not true synchronization. That is why you could delete a message just on the phone. EAS provides much more functionality.

File the folder fist, I guess? The email you just filed in should be there? At least on 9900, I can search the sender, and all emails related to that sender will be shown. I don't own a Q10. I would be surprised if Q10 did not function that way, though.

Go to the hub, tap on the top where it says "BlackBerry Hub" and tap on the plus sign by your email account. Then find the folder where you filed the email and tap on that folder's name. Your email will be in there.

You can also use the 'i' shortcut key to file a message (just like on your 9900).

OMG. I did not know that! I use a lot of shortcut key in 9900. But I did not know you can use the "i" shortcut key to file a message.

    Thank you very much!

No worries! I use shortcut keys wherever I can. It was a bit quicker on BB 7 devices, as you could hit the 'i', start typing the folder name, and then just click the 'enter' key to file it once found. With BB 10 you can still use the 'i' key, but 'enter' doesn't work so you need to actually touch the folder on the screen to file it. Not a big deal, but it's the little things that keep me efficient.
