Hello, I was video chatting on skype for about an hour and noticed half way through the convo that my phone was extremely hot ! Anyone else ever have this issue ?

Yes. Skype is really using the CPU a lot.

Skype was by the way initially "hacked" into BB10 by BlackBerry. Probably the initial steps that lead to execution of "native code".
I works OK but I only use it for Skype out when I'm in the US and need long distance calling via WiFi.

Thanks ! I think it works great... I mostly use it for video chatting with 4g network which I feel is faster than wifi

I don't use Skype a lot on my Z10 or Z30, but I used it a lot on my laptop and Galaxy Tab and I can tell it, you can cook an egg with them

When I had an iPhone 5, if I use Skype to do a video cal, give it 3 minutes and the iPhone is hot as an oven! so this isn't abnormal

Cook some eggs, use this to your advantage. Time your calls around breakfast. Eggs over easy.

Yup! I Only use skype when I need and then exit it. I don't keep it idle if i'm not using it as it gets the phone very hot

It's normal. My Z10 gets really hot on BBM video too.
