Ha funny you say that, same situation here. Mine hasn't worked since day 1, sound just constantly cuts in and out, too lazy to give up the other great features of my Q10 for any extended period of time.

However seems like this is actually a common issue, I've seen another thread with the Q10 headphone jack issue.

    Same issue on a Z10 stl-3
Mad because it's about 1month out of warranty.

    Anybody make progress on this?

It seems to be a hardware related issue where the headphones are recognised then not, then recognised again back and forth.
Hard press or wiggling the connector does nothing, nor does cleaning it.

    Thanks guys

It's definitely hardware on mine. I'm not about to disassemble the thing though. Just accepted it. If you're under warranty, take advantage of it

Had this issue on my 9900. A gentle love tap was all that it took. Seriously.

I had it on my 9930 - took it into Sprint (when I was with them) and they said it happens often. He took a headphone jack and worked it in and out multiple times ---- he also sprayed an electronic cleaner on the headphone and worked it a few more times - worked from then on

My Z10 headset jack wasn't working, and I tried with a bunch of earphones, and it didn't work.

I did a warranty exchange, and a few hours later, my Z10's headset jack worked again. Still accepted the new replacement Z10 though.

I know this is for Q10 posts, but what I'm saying is.. be patient, magic might happen

Really pple. It's not cheap like other vendors. It's just tight like a virgin.

Push the headphone jack in all the way down. You should hear a click or 2..

Everyone says this and when I show them they feel very stupid.....

DO NOT spray something in your phone as mentioned above. Your just voiding warranty.

Apparently not as this is a common issue now even though it's actually not an issue at all!

It IS an issue :/ No offense, but you're delusional. You really think all these people just aren't pushing the plug in? Maybe you should play with one that's jammed so you can understand what the issue really is. Just because you haven't experienced the issue, doesn't mean it's non existent, haha

I had a similar issue with z10. Looked plugged in all the way. Apparently the case was preventing the headphones from going I. Far enough. Felt like was going to break something. But once I was able to get it done properly a couple of times it worked flawlessly afterwards

Yes I am delusional. I am wasting my time trying to help someone that obviously doesn't want help.

I do IT support. I have helped over a dozen pple with this issue. I experienced this issue myself with my first z10, 2 of my friends had the issue, and my mother had the issue.

NOW you tell me...I didn't say it's not possible for it to be broken I am simply telling everyone to ensure its plugged in as this is a very common thread. and as stated above make sure your case is not in the way.

I had a similar problem with my Z10, where my jack looked like it was in, but could be pressed harder to hear an audible second click. Ezapper's fix was exactly what I needed. Not that this is the cut and dried answer to everyone's problems, but it was in my case.

I too, thought I had a problem, my advice is to make sure that the headphone jack "clicks" properly into the socket. I found that I was being a bit too gentle.
