Headjack issue, extremely frustrating!!
UPDATE!!: I finally was able to try out a different pair of headphones with my phone to see if that was the issue (thank you dguy123 and Joshu42!) and it turns out it WAS the headset, not the jack. Which is a relief that BlackBerry's headsets are more reliably built than iphone's accessories XD thank you for all the suggestions. If any mods are available please feel free to lock this thread as the solution to the problem has been found :)
I bought my Q10 used and everything was tested and working fine for a bit over a month now. I frequently use my phone to listen to music (with and without headset) and i've never had a problem UNTIL yesterday after about an our of headset music listening it stopped playing sound. When I pulled the headset out of the jack it worked again; plugged the set back in and voice assistant woke up. I closed it and tried listening to music again, sound came out fine but then the volume control buttons would not work for the volume OR for changing the song, neither did the pause control work. Screen controls work fine. I have tried everything I could think of: hard reset, soft reset, factory reset, reloading the software, etc. Nothing seems to work and this is driving me crazy cause I use my phone for listening to music SO MUCH. Everything worked perfect up to yesterday.
So, quick recap:
-plug headphones in for music, voice assistant opens (every time).
-with headset in I can't use side button controls for music (works fine without headset in)
-tried everything to fix it already
Can anyone tell me definitely if it is a hardware issue? If I bought the phone used from a private seller can I send it in to get repaired? Please help!! I love my phone and don't wanna give it up because of stupid headset issue!
