What is frequently occurring is that I cannot go into my Contacts or call anybody using the dialpad unless I call somebody from the call log or go into Voice Mail. The Contacts option and dialpad do not respond when tapping the screen. Is this a common bug?

My mum has gone missing from my contacts even though she's still saved as mum on my call log

Ya I've had issues like your 'mum' bug. I found getting rid of Facebook and just making a browser shortcut met my Facebook needs, the. Just had one source of contacts, like sync with outlook for example seemed to help with ghost contacts, too much was happening when I had Gmail sync on. Good luck I feel your pain.

Don't sync your contact with facebook's contact. Go to Facebook app and uncheck the option.

I do not use facebook and never have done on my phone so I dnt think syncing fb syncing or even outlook syncing is the issue on my phone
