Just updated my OS to the 10.4, HATE that the calendar is now white. I love the black theme on everything in the Q10. BBM, and text look sleek and sexy and so did my calendar. Now I have some bright white background. I find my schedule and text is no at easy to read now with the beaming light behind it. Why fix something that was not broken?? So many things are the black theme, why would they change this???

    Always on my Q10!

As someone who plans on getting the A10 for the dark theme goodness. I must say I'm sorry to see the calendar has been changed to light.

Hopefully they will not be doing this with all programs that use the dark theme.

They changed it because enough people complained of it being difficult to see. Blackberry is listening just not thoroughly. They should have given an option to switch between white and dark themes. I don't mind the white theme but prefer the dark.

That would just be horrible. The black background is so much easier on the eyes or mine at least. And it looks so classy. Hopefully it will not affect everything - like the Crackberry app!

Yup, it's awful ... I really loved the dark theme and already blamed Optus that they realised a Z10 update for the Q10.
Already thinking, if I shall install a calendar bar with a black theme as said in a different thread (although it was strongly disadvised).

How many are enough? How did they hear about these complaints? I might make sense to open zillion of threads on different discussion boards
And yep - choosing the theme (per app???) would be the best option. I prefer the dark theme for everything ... except of the hub.
I think the original design - dark all over and keep the hub in white was brilliant

It seems that people were complaining and asking for the white calendar for the Q10.

Yet surely lots still want to keep the black. The best thing to do is to offer a toggle switch or the black lovers will start to complain instead.

I doubt the black lovers were that much of a minority either.

    BlackBerry rationale !

Yes why not give us the option to have it black OR white? Why does do it have to be one or the other?

Look how bright it looks as an active frame. I always keep my calendar in active frame for quick reference. I hate how it's so bright against my black theme. I keep everything black on my Q10. The theme, the case, it makes it look so sleek. And now I have this bright white active tyle. It looks cheesy.

There's a bar file you can load to get the black theme back for calendar.

I also dislike what BlackBerry has done there. There is no common sense in their ways deciding which app gets which theme. As until now "Settings" are white, with 10.2 and the new Settings app, they'll be dark. Now the calendar has always been dark, now it got changed to bright. Hub is still bright, same with the browsers "reader" mode.
The dark theme was ment to be a feature improving the Q10 in terms of battery performance, I really, really dislike seeing BlackBerry experimenting around with it, instead of improving it.

The best option of course would be, to just let the user decide with a dark/bright option in the settings.

To each his own but personally I like the dark theme so BlackBerry please bring it back or give us the chance to choose. What were you thinking...again???
    Do they screw up deliberately?

Personally, I'm glad it changed to white. I'm on the downhill side of middle age and find it easier on my eyes. Having said that, yes, there does need to be an option to choose light or dark.

You might want to check the Beta threads, I'm pretty sure someone extracted & posted it there. Or just install one of the newer Betas - .4643 or .4681. Each are working fine, and have lots of little tweaks over the stock .2xxx.

The OS I have installed was official carrier release downloaded OTA. And the Calendar is white.

After updating my Q10 from the stock OS, I lost the dark theme in calander and the System Settings menu. It was almost enough for me to want to go back.

I would definitely love to have the option to change it back.
