After about a year and a half, my wife finally gave up on her iPhone 4s (lagging, freezing, terrible battery life) - she said she hated typing on glass and missed her old Bold's keyboard, and she couldn't believe her iPhone wouldn't last through 6-8 hours before the battery died. She was constantly plugging it in! I got her to try out a Q10 in the Bell store yesterday (despite the reps making faces at me when I said she wanted to upgrade to a BlackBerry) and we're picking one up from Kijiji tonight! I'm a Z10 user since launch day in Canada, and I'm really looking forward to playing with the Q10 a bit as well. . . hopefully it'll be enough to hold me off until the Q20 arrives and I can use THAT for my work upgrade (been close to pulling the trigger on a Q10 at work now for about a month)!

Always reassure her she's made the right choice, the OS is great as is.. but with 10.3 coming later this year it'll breathe new life into the phones

I got my wife to make the right move as well. I ordered an unlocked Z10 at ShopBlackberry.com for her two days ago to replace her iPhone 5. Her iPhone 5 has a lot of issues, including lagging, wifi connection issues and poor battery life. She has been with Apple for 4.5 years from iPhone 3G to iPhone 5 but over time she starts disliking iPhone because of its crappy keyboard, lack of file manager, lack of multi-tasking and clustered communications, especially when the revamp of iOS 7 actually making everything worse than the previous OS version, i.e. iOS 6. Indeed, she has been jealous about my Z10 since day 1 when I switched from iPhone 4 last April. Both of us were once Apple fans but today we admit that Apple's products are no longer impressive after Steve Jobs.

You're telling me! I think what finally pushed her over the edge was about 36 hours of batter on my Z10 when I was off work (hundreds fewer emails those days), and she had to plug in 4-5 times in the same period!

The Q10 is a great device. I'm just 24 hours in using my white Q10 loving the keyboard! Took a little getting used to coming from the larger Z30 going to try and use it for a month. Your wife won't be disappointed.

36hrs battery with a Z10 ? Maybe I had not the same device, because mine used to last only 5/6hrs with a "normal use".
It's clearly better with my Q10 !

Ya my Z10 was lucky if I got more than 4 hours tops! My Z30 lasts 8 hours with heavy use, today I got 8 hours out of my Q10 before having to plug it in.

Loving my Q10 too after coming from an iPhone 4S. There are still some things about my iPhone that I prefer (better camera, iTunes, screen size and resolution, app quality), but overall I prefer the entire package that the Q10 offers.

Gotta love the retail outlets. Helpful staff looking at you like an ***** for selecting BlackBerry. I will never buy any mobile from these outlets. Educate yourself and buy online!

You gave me an idea! I think I am going to swap my other half for a newer model. She has been lagging for about 10 years. Perhaps I should have said a younger model seems like she has been forgetting to plug herself in and always seems weak more and more often. I think I am going to insist on a no contract deal on the next one. Probably will pay more up front but it's making more and more sense the more I think about it! Thanks OP!

Good choice. I buy all my devices off contract. It may hit your pocket book hard up front but then you're in the driver seat with the carriers when negotiating your type of plan. 3 years is ridiculous. The plans and usage change so fast.

10.2.1 is pretty awesome for Battery life, but the 36 hrs I meant with minimal usage (just sitting at home, a couple phone calls and some quick googling). I'm usually 12-16 hrs of regular use a day.
