I've recently realised that all my deleted items go to this folder called wastebasket. Previously (all this while until August) they just disappear after deleting (but that's another problem). Anyway, the problem with all deleted items going into wastebasket is that they still appear when I do a text search for certain mails, but I only want to search my inbox and sent items. I've tried mass deleting the items in the wastebasket folder by using Delete Prior but they don't go away. It only seems to go away if I delete them one by one.

Does anybody have any insight on this?

Disable foldersync for the wastebasket? Empty the wastebasket folder through Gmail's web interface once in a while?

There's no wastebasket folder in the web version, only trash and it's already empty...

What's your OS version? There shouldn't be an wastebasket folder if you don't have one online... Gmail should have linked that to your Bin automatically.

Do you use delete on device only, or delete on server+ device?

Yeah, I'm wondering why it's like that and was trying to see if there are any other Gmail users with this issue too...

I haven't seen it. I had some other issue with deleting items, but that was a Gmail issue (had to set auto expunge off/delete and disable All Mail sync).

10.3 will give you the option to select which folder the Wastebasket is connected to, so you can wait for that is my only other idea...

I installed the latest leak and see that the wastebasket folder is now mapped to the trash folder for Gmail but when I look at the trash folder using my browser, I see the deleted items there. The wastebasket folder on my BlackBerry is empty. That folder doesn't seem to sync?
