So my mother was using a basic flip phone she has had for the last ten years and wanted a more modern/non-flip smartphone. Since I switched to the Passport and AT&T, my Verizon Q10 was obsolete to me.
Originally she wanted an iPhone since she hears so much about them. To overcome this obstacle I had her text using my wife's iPhone and then respond back using the Q10. Her text from the Q10 was 100% perfect - her iPhone text was far from that.
Now she says she feels like a CEO with this thing, lol. She has a steep learning curve but this is true when switching to any smartphone. The only issue is there are less BlackBerry people around to help her when she has questions (I'm in anther state).
Just thought this would be a fun read.

My 72 year old father still has a flip phone. Getting together with him for lunch this week and will try to convince him to give my spare Q5 a try. Wish me luck......he's a tech dinosaur.

That's a good-news story.

Mine, not so much: Bought my niece a new 9930 (before the Q10 was released), and she traded it to her mother for an Android phone, who subsequently traded in the 9930 for an Android phone of her own.

Maybe it was the age-gap.

Agreed guys all mom's should be treated as CEO what better a place than crackberry and one awesome BlackBerry 10 device.
My mom passed away in 93 god bless her soul if she was alive today she would be definetly be having a BlackBerry 10 device.
