I am the proud owner of a Blackberry Q10! I just won an auction for a slightly used one (4 months) for a cool $158.00, which is the highest I have ever paid for a phone. I work in I.T. and have had bad experiences with the legacy devices and BES5 and have been doing a rain dance for BB to go away. Since BB rolled out the red carpet and convinced us to try BES10, my opinion has gone way up on the whole company.

My Android based Sony Xperia Play (the video game phone) has been good to me for two years but it's 512MB of onboard memory has been a problem lately. All of the apps update and use more space, but my poor device is choking on it. It will be a video game / backup device once I can get m Q10 activated on PagePlus (which will now allow 4G devices).

I have a Otterbox coming to keep it safe. Looking forward to getting it going!

    Welcome.

I forget which OS version, but you'll be able to install your favorite apps just by running the APK.

Earlier OS's you had to sideload an Android App.

I'm in no way into IT, not a tech head but have been happy to ditch the DROID for bb10. Welcome.

The device checked all the boxes for me. Some of the names and technology terms is hard to type on the glass. I am hoping that my Q10 will let me create e-mails more easily. I e-mail my whole company from my device, so being able to quickly and accurately send out an e-mail is important.

One app I am looking for is Mr Number Call Blocking. I see it existed at one time but I can't find anything recent about that app. I use it on my Android all the time to keep telemarkers from bothering me. Is there something better for BB or does this still exist in the App World.

Same request from me as well. Coming from Windows Phone, I miss having the Call + SMS block feature built-in. Need something like that for my brand new Q10.

Check out callblocker10. It's a native and headless app to block individual phone numbers.

158$ for a slightly used Q10 is a really good deal for that tiny beast!
You'll be surprised how many things that little phone can do, and how smooth it is!
I for sure will keep mine as back up phone when i'll get my Passport.

My slight used Q10 was delivered last night and I spent some time getting it setup. Here are my findings..

    1) I really like the BB Hub. It is cool to have all of the messages (no matter where they came from) get placed in there. Fantastic!
    2) The hardware is good, the keyboard is great to use!
    3) The Amazon App Store is a must have, even if the apps don't always work correctly
    4) No official Facebook Messenger App? WTF I bought the $2.00 app and it looks like it will work even though it is not headless

Bottom Line: Solid product and good keyboard ! Need more apps but I can understand why there isn't too many.

Yeah apps are always the most critical point about the whole BB10 range of devices. Later this year 10.3.1 is expected to officially land on existing devices like our Q10 and offers again an improved Android support. If you are in an experimental mood, you can already load up a leaked version on your device and have a look.

Hopefully not double-typed with my Q10

You don't need a Facebook app on your BlackBerry.

The native Facebook app integrates with the hub and you can receive the notifications from the hub when you get a message and send a reply right away.

Or just install the Android version of Facebook Messenger. Works great for me.

The BB10 native apps are always going to be the best but just remember, now that you have your Blackberry, whatever you can't find in BB World, you always have the Droid option. I'd highly recommend searching the app Snap here in the forums to add to your Q10 so you can download directly from Google Play if and when you ever need or want to.
