    Hello,

I am here today to see of any of you could help me find out how and why my battery is acting up, and possibly assist me in fixing it. Let me try to explain what is happening with this picture:
    Erratic Battery Performance-img_20140331_163629.png
What is happening is that my battery will say full charge for a while then drop all the way down to 5% or so, and keep jumping around as you can see. I already tried a security wipe, clean install not from a back up and still the same thing. To be honest, it will still last around a day and a half without dying. Only sometimes will I check my pocket and it will be dead, but it will always start right up.

Here's the deal, can any of you help me out and tell me whats going on? I am going to go back to my 9900 if I can't fix it in a week.

Do you have the official os or are you running a leak, I would suggest loading the newest leak 2947 that Darcy leaked the other day, I have it on my q and it's great.

You don't mention apps, how many do you have running at one time and how many of them require data services to be running? Perhaps you should run the apps you REALLY need.

The only apps I ever use are twitter, CB10 and the flashlight app when I need it. Never have them running in the background, only have them open when I use them a few times a day. About a dozen texts a day, with about the same in calls. Also I play music in my headphones for about an hour a day. That's it

This happens no matter if I have it plugged in or not. It could be plugged in and say 100% then drop to 32% or something and still jump around.

Clean reinstall of official OS... 600% of system usage is absolutely ridiculous.

How? I'm guessing that's different than a security wipe?

Security wipe doesn't wipe the OS. Only your data. I suggest you backup your phone with BlackBerry link and reload the OS to factory settings.

Could you tell me how? I tried using the button in Link that says to reset it back to factory settings, and all it did was a security wipe.

You will probably have to load the os through an autoloader. I posted a thread above just download the correct one for your device. Unzip it, plug your phone into your computer close BlackBerry Link and click on the exe file. Your led will go green showing you its loading, when the windows closes unplug your phone and let it boot up. Then just set up or restore using a back up from link.

I'm with slff, do a total reinstall. Otherwise return the device to your service provider if you are still within your warranty period.

    Bump

Have any of you had troubles downloading the autoloader from Mega or that Bitcast website? I tried downloading the autoloader for the Q5/Q10 4 times last night and it didn't work each time. Every time it said the file was empty or corrupted when trying to extract it in WinRar. The most it downloaded was about 600 mb, when the file is just over a gig. I'm guessing it's the websites fault, but this ****s getting old. Probably will go back to the 9900 until blackberry gets their **** together.

    Bump 4/18/14

Got the auto-loader downloaded and installed, but I am having the same battery issues. It will randomly shut off during the day at least 5 times, and go from 100% battery to 7 or 8% battery instantly. Then jump back up to 98% for some time, and keep jumping around. It says the system is using 600+% of the battery. Anybody know whats up?

Probably it's due to some android apps with virus. Run a full scan with anti-vrus and do a reset. Solved my battery problems on my Z30.
