My Q10 warranty was nearing its end, and I've been bothered by the double typing issue, so I called AT&T and they sent a warranty replacement. I tried transferring old apps & data both by BB Link's backup & restore feature, and by BB Links's "switch" option. Results were the same. All email messages were lost, as were contacts and calendar entries. Phone call history, texts, and pics did transfer. BB support said it's up to the user to synch email with his ISP, not their problem. True, when I connect my new device to my POP3 mailbox, I get my recent (last 30 days) email messages, but I want my older messages and I need the messages that I wrote and sent from my old Q10.

    Two questions:
    1. is there a way to synch mail sent from a Q10 with a POP3 mailbox folder?
    2. is there any third party software that can copy email folders/messages from my old Q10 to my new Q10?

I dunno about 10.2.1 but on 10.3.1 you would just have to edit your email account and click on the sliders icon on the action bar to go into advanced settings then:

Sync. Email messages are saved on their servers not on device. Hope that helps.

My company uses POP3 mailboxes, but if that's the hangup, I can petition for a change. Yes, the server saves all incoming messages, but I do not know of any way to synch the "Sent" folder in my Q10 with the "Sent Mail" folder at my POP3 account. I need some way to either synch my Q10's "Sent" folder with my Email Server, or, transfer that folder to my new Q10. My Q10 is running 10.2.1.

POP3 does not typically save sent messages server-side; POP3 was designed with the intention of saving space, so it just doesn't store them. I'd recommend switching to IMAP or EAS.

As for your current sent messages, you could forward them to yourself and move them around your inbox, presumably.

Again, 10.3.1 but in advanced email settings: tap
    Edit email folder settings
