When you click on the notifications button, uit will either switch from vibrate/silent to loud or vice versa. Is there any way to switch from vibrate to silent and from silent to vibrate quicker then going into the scroll down list?

Or any app that does this?

When you pull down from the top (and reveal the settings shortcuts) click on the icon next to Notifications (not the text). The icon will toggle between your latest two profiles.

One swipe and one click, doesn't get faster than that...

I click on the icon, and it doesn't switch between my two latest profiles. It just switches from what I'm on (either vibrate or silent) to normal.

Wow! Thanks for that. I had been wondering the same thing as I turn all alerts off at bedtime!

It could be that this works differently in 10.1 compared to 10.2 (what I'm using). On my Q10 the setting definitely toggles between two last used settings.

Just put the phone into bedside mode. When you are on the lock screen drag from the top of the screen down to the bottom, that will silince all notifications, the led and screen will no longer light either allowing you to sleep, swipe up in the morning and everything is waiting for you. There is also an option to allow phone calls which is what I do since someone calling me at 2am is usually an emergency.

I hope they bring back the feature where you hold Q to put the phone into vibrate mode. I used that all the time.

An easier way to turn all alerts off is to just pull down the shutter and put it in bedside mode (better for battery life too). Then when you wake it up, all is the same.
When on the lock screen, just swipe down from the top to put bedside mode and reveal the clock.
Sorry if you already knew all that .

Edit: just noticed someone else beat me to it.

after you pull down the notification tab, you have to click on the word Notifications and there is a pull down box that should read Normal, pull that down and choose Vibrate. then close notifications. Now when you pull down the notifications tab, and click on the ICON it should toggle between Vibrate and Silent

Thanks Ien. When I'd do that, I get a clock face. Does the screen go black after a while?

Yes, unless it is plugged in then I just hit the top button to shut off the screen.

please someone tell me how to switch the mode of phone to ONLY either vibrate (for texts and and calls) or silent (so that texts and calls still show, but no sound). what is the SIMPLE fast way to just switch between these to alert functions? not 'normal'. just either vibrate or silent
    thanks
