The title pretty much sums it up. My heart sank when I heard it. I can't hear anything when I shake it while on but with battery removed and case off I hear it. It sounds like my old 8520 when sitting on a wood desk. Should I go with tools or see if my carrier will replace it?

I haven't dropped my Q10 and I hear a sound when I shake it if the battery cover is off. That's because the NFC pins move back and forth whenever the cover is off. This is normal.

Check to see that the data card is firmly in place and that the SIM is also in place. From posts here I've read that those are the "weak" spots.

I would suggest an Otterbox, if you don't mind the added bulk. Worth the protection.

I've got a Commuter and just bought a Defender from AT&T for 5$. But it's not the NFC pins. There is something in the top area.

You can drop it again to see if the pieces go back in to their original spots. Honestly, my Z30 rattles a bit and it has (knock on wood) never been dropped. Nothing extreme but it's there if I put my ear to it and shake it.

Oh yeah mine does that too, I've dropped it so many times and its landed on very painful looking positions, so I'm not surprised really. This phone has taken a real whacking I'm surprised its still working! I'm still amazed at how rugged this phone is. Yes, I do have a case, had to get a pouch, not very much into bulky cases, all my phones are as naked as possible....... thinking of flinging this one and getting a white one. Anyone tried the white Q10 with a black battery cover? Pictures if you have please!!
