Can someone explain what these two apps are for and what they do. Never had them before.
    Thanks

Lots of people use them to store pictures for easy access without having to use the device storage. I use them for pictures, wallpapers, work files, etc... Pretty much anything/everything that I want to have access to but don't want to actually store on my phone. Plus you don't have to worry about losing any files if your computer crashes, or if you change devices. It's always there.

On the Q10, Box is better than Dropbox. With Box you can have all of your pictures and videos automatically uploaded real time if you have a cellular or wifi connection. If you're running Box on your desktop, you can literally take a picture with your Q and have it show up on your desktop machine one minute later.

I agree about Box, the integration is pretty awesome. I have it automatically back up all photos I take with my Q10. I just take a photo, and it's on both my phone and in my Box account. All in the background...

You may end up turning the auto-backup feature off for the app at some point (I did). It is a battery vampire!

Definitely grab one. I use dropbox and keep anything important on there, so that I can access it from any computer/device, bit also so I don't lose it if my harddrive crashes.

Does dropbox really not automatically upload pictures like on other platforms?

So far no problems with that. My battery still lasts. It only really does anything after I take photos.

Box works seamlessly on the Q. It's cloud storage aka a virtual hard drive. BlackBerry users get 10GB of free storage.

Correct, but Box does and its desktop app is better.

I installed box on all my devices and windows 8 has a nice start page app for it.

It's nice to not have to connect to the computer to get pics and videos from the BlackBerry.

I believe that on Android that it does automatically upload pictures. I'm not sure about iOS because Dropbox on my iPhone 3GS is a very old version (my iPhone 3GS is still running a version of iOS v4.x)
