I have a gmail account with about 5 years of gmail. To make a long story short I need to search those emails to refer to conversations that can lay dormant for 2 to 4 years. I do not archive and I am not going to for a variety of reasons. How can I get more than 90 days worth of gmail on to the device? Ideally I would like at least 5 years worth of my emails. Any thoughts will be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

This is dependent upon which OS version you're running -- I believe 10.1.4181 was the earliest to allow us to sync Gmail past 90 days. In other words, if you're not running .4181 or later, you can't.

Assuming your on .4181 or later and are using Gmail via IMAP, you'll need to delete, the re-add your Gmail account. During that process, you'll see an option "Advanced" at the bottom of the setup page. Tap that, scroll down to "Initial Retrieval Amount". That's where you can set it. Mine is set forever. You may want to be on WiFi when you do so, unless you have a generous data plan.

You can look at this recent article for more info. How to set up Gmail on your BlackBerry 10 device using IMAP, CalDav and CardDav | CrackBerry.com

    Cheers

Thank you. My OS is 10.1.0.2121 with a build ID of 544609. I guess I will have to wait for a newer released software. Maybe 10.2? Does this allow you to download your entire mailbox or is it still limited in any way?

You'd be good with any of the 10.2 releases.
