Have you tried using the predictive input? It may lessen and correct some of the double typing.

Honestly with a keyboard predictive input is defeating the purpose and some of us despise it in general

I don't think it's defeating the purpose, it's actually faster to type that way. My daily driver is a Z30, so, I guess I don't mind use that the predictive input.

Enable predictive input in the settings under language and input. When you enable it, there will be a bar above the keyboard with 3 predicted words. If you're keyboard double types you can press the screen with the correct word.

Double-typing is only because of keyboard hardware, I guess. So I think replacing it will solve the problem?

And again I said with a KEYBOARD - touchscreens are different and even when I used one for a brief period I still cut it off because it was hindering my typing speed

For the people with double typing issues on the keyboard just replace it. It's $5.00 on ebay

What's with the large caps? Everyone is different, I can type faster with predictive input.

I paid $9.57. cost me $40 for the install at a local phone store. at the same time I also replaced a Z10 microphone which I paid $7.17 for the part plus $1.00 shipping. and another $40 install. I rarely use the Z10, I need the keyboard for everyday use.

I've had my Q10 since they came out here in the US and I love it. That having been said, it too is starting to double type on occasion.

The predictive typing and auto correct features minimize the problem to the point where I hardly notice it.

I am a bit disappointed however. BlackBerry is known for its quality physical keyboards on its phones. And now that this is starting to go south, I've ordered a Z10. Time to try the virtual version.

I have to look at the Q10 experience positively. It lasted a long time before it started showing signs of wear and I really liked the phone. It made me an OS10 believer. And to boot...I dumped an iPhone 4 to get it. I'm not sorry I did that. was forever double pumping apps out of memory so the battery would last the day.

Q10 is a great phone. Looking forward to the Z10 experience. Will hang on to the Q10 if I can't stand the virtual keyboard.
