Guys, please, tell me, is the double typing issue the problem of all (or almost all) Q10s? I am on my way to make a present for myself for Christmas and buy one (never ever had Q10), but double typing on my Passports makes me think twice. Thanks.

ALL physical keyboard phones are prone to double typing.
At least the Q10 is easier and MUCH cheaper to replace, keyboard-wise.

So, does your post mean that you have/had such an issue?

I had a problem, but software fixed it. Now I have the dreaded single typing issue.

Yeah, I have had that issue on my Q10 and Passport. The Q10 was easy and cheap to replace, but the Passport, I let it be since the spare part was difficult to get. I don't use any of them anymore. Now I use Aurora and have Z10 on the side, purely for ebook reading.

That's strange enough, because my 2 classics - blue and black - never had that issue.

    Software? Which one?

Not sure which update it was, but it suddenly stopped doing it so much.

Idem with my Classic. It never has that kind of problem. That is strange, yeah?

if you push very hard on the KB and like the click sound, most likely, when the unit age, you might get double typing (excluding the software related issues). slight deform (fractured) or shifted KB dome, will cause double typing... both might related to user typing habit... (that is why some of them don't have problem... agree, some model might be more susceptable to double typing...IMHO...)

I had the double typing issue on my Q10. I just lived with it. But I would imagine a lot of people didn't have a problem at all.

There's a lot of complaints on severe double typing on Q10, more than on any other model, over here, that's why I decided to ask my question.

Pretty sure 10.3.2.2813 is the anti-double type software #.

I have no issues with DT, I use the keyboard with the 5 orange symbols.

There's nothing worse than having to push keys twice.

I had the dreaded DT's on my Q10 until the later versions of BB10 fixed the issue. No problems since.
If you read the old Q10 threads you'll see that most occurrences were fixed with BB10 updates, but not all. If a defective keyboard is the route of the problem it needs to be changed.
Based on the reduced frequency of reports/discussions in these forums it seems to be far less of a problem, which would suggest that BB10 updates have, for most users, resolved the problem.

Mine started to do it within a year, and there is no BB10 update that could solve it. My Classic has not started it so far.
As bhoqueem stated already, the Q10 keyboard is probably the easiest to replace. Don't let fear of ddouble-ttyping sway your decision to get a Q10. As BlackBerry users we have to be flexible, lol.

If you're running the latest available version of BB10, that will greatly reduce your chances of the DT issue happening.

If it ever does happen, the keyboard is very easy to replace on the Q10 and you can find a replacement keyboard for very cheap on sites like eBay.

I've owned a total of 4 Q10s and only one of them ever had any kind of DT issue - and that was before the software update came out to fix it, but I sold it before the update came out.

As one more data point, I never had a problem on my Q10. (Probably because I bought a spare keyboard just in case--like how it only rains if you forget to take your umbrella!) But clearly many others did.

My first Q10 keyboard got the hypersenstive bug. But I haven't had that problem with either my hybrid franken-keyboard or the five-orange-symbol keyboard.

As an alternative to the q10, is the q5. No double typing on that under rated phone and typing on that clicky keyboard is like popping bubble wrap; you just don't want to stop.

Have two Q10's. The first a refurb from ATT had a sticking "C" on KB. Am a slow typist, so I guessed the previous owner may have been agressive. Changed KB with part from Amazon. A bother but worth it. Helped with IFixit tools and a good magnifier for those SMALL screws.
The second Q10 purchased from EBay 100-5 works great after 3yrs. Q10 great size, replaceable battery and pkb. Unfortunately not common anymore!
