I need, yet again, another Q10 replacement. Lost so many contacts so far, it's such a frustrating device/operating system, but if I back up these contacts, it will overwrite many more saved contacts. So, I figured I'd save my contacts to my SIM and then restore them from the SIM.

Will saving to the SIM and restoring from the SIM retain all the data for each contact?

Probably you will save only a basic name (limited number of characters) and a single phone number for each contact.

Use the app "Backup Pro". It backs up every contact field including contact photo and contact notes. Works like magic!

    Get it in BlackBerry World.

Fire Chest Backup works great for me. Have used it every time I've updated my OS (I always do a clean install).
Never had an issue. Works like a charm.

I have all my contacts saved in Google contacts. Nothing is saved in the local contacts or my SIM card. That way, you save more info than just the name and number via SIM card.

Uhh, the OP wanted to know about SIM card - that paid app doesn't backup to a SIM, only an SD according to BBW.. But you are the dev, so . . .

Actually he asked if a save to the sim card (any phone can do it) would preserve all the data of the contacts. He did not asked for a program to save to sim. He just thought that would be a good idea to save the info to sim for easy transfer.

Sorry, yes. To answer the question, copying your contacts to the SIM card will not save "all" your contact data for each contact, but this depends upon what "all" is.

Of course you can always experiment and see if what it does copy is suitable for you.
