I'm pretty sure, that the newer production lines had been revised (mine is from August 2014) and the keyboard looks very different and feels "upgraded" than on my first Q10 (one of the first models). No double typing issue until now *knock on wood*.

There is very little actual double typing for Q10. There has not been a single Youtube video that demonstrates double typing on Q10.

Double typing is a clear example of a mass hysteria.

I with you on like typing on the 9900 but BB10 is way more better than OS7.
Give the new keyboard a try.

Yep. BB10 is way way better. I'm enjoying every bit of it. Just can't wait for 10.3.1 official version now.

So glad I noticed this thread. Didn't realize it was so cheap and easy to replace the keyboard. Will be doing that shortly.

You will need a TS2, T4 and phillips screw drivers.

I haven't had an issue with double typing. I remember when I first was looking into getting a Q I had the same concern, but I haven't had that problem. In getting any phone you are going to take chances, but your going to love it! I had a Note2 and I haven't missed it yet! good luck!

Mine started to double type after 2 or 3 months. The spare keyboard I got started to double type right from the moment I installed it.
I was very disappointed with that and decided not to order 3rd keyboard as it's seems like playing Russian roulette.
Just fixed it.

I returned my Q10 because I was afraid of having to deal with this. Purchased a Z30 from Verizon and although it is really nice, it cost me 500.00 which was 250.00 more than the Q10. Now I am trying to decide on going back to the Q10 and take my chances or getting a moto x.

Looking to buy my first BB and I will go probably for a Q10 since the Passport seems to have issues with the splitting screen. But now I read so many comments from people having double typing issues on their Q10.

What are the chances if I order a new Q10 from BB.com to get a phone with this problem? Do the new manufactured ones have this issue too?

Go in any forum and you'll be wondering if every phone out there has a problem. I've had two q10s without a double typing issue. I also don't have a splitting screen with my passport. Q10 is always a solid buy. Love mine although it's now a backup to my passport.

However, everyone I know, albeit less than ten, with a Q10 has issues. That being said, we would ALL recommend the Q. Hands down a great phone. Fabulous.

Seems too be a wear iissue more than anything else. When I purchased this phone, it didn't exhibit the doouble typing issue...it seems to have developed over the past few months. Luckily, keyboards are cheap and easy to replace
