Quite simply, actually. Since I activated my phone the day it came (June 7th) and immediately used the restore function - I know that any message before June 7th is an "OS7.1 text."
Hope this helps.

I'm not entirely sure, but I hope that OS10.1 doesn't slow in performance because my text message count starts to build. I think it has to do with messages from the legacy OS.
had this same issue, all i did was delete ALL messages and restart the hub, worked perfectly fine after
How do you select texts before a certain date to be deleted
Bump. .
Not possible?
Press and hold the date of when you want to start the deletions and the trash can icon will give you the option to "delete prior".

10.1 was supposed to speed it up. And it did for my z10 but its back to being slow again.

Only partially worked. For people who've I texted after the date I want to delete, none of their old text messages were deleted, guess because they're on the top of the Hub and it's part of the delete prior.
Am I stuck having to delete one text at a time per person if I want to keep my recent texts after I got my z10. Going to be painful
Problem is fixed in the newest update.
No it's not... still the same problem, running 10.2.0.429.
And it still exists, running 10.3.1.1865. For me, it is a per-conversation issue. Any time a conversation gets very long (hundreds of messages and photos), the UI becomes unusable in that context, with huge delays.
