So I've read through all of the "Will a Verizon q10 work on [insert network here]" threads, and there still seems to be some confusion on whether or not a Verizon q10 (SQN100-2) will work with T-Mobile q10 (SQN100-5) on more than just the EDGE network. I have read some people insisting that it would only work with 2G speeds (EDGE), and I have read others who say that they have in fact gotten 4G T-Mobile service on a Verizon q10.
After some excellent paint work, I have arrived the following image. This is made from the data on blackberry.com. The T-Mobile q10 (SQN100-5), and the Verizon q10 (SQN100-2) are nearly identical with respect to mobile frequencies , here are the differences:
    • The Verizon q10 has different receiving and transmitting LTE frequency bands than the T-Mobile q10, that is to say both phones only have one out of two matching frequency bands for LTE (receiving and transmitting)
    • The T-Mobile q10 has quad-band LTE support, while the Verizon q10 has dual-band band LTE support.

However, the Verizon q10 still has all of the other HSPA+ (UMTS) frequencies that match the T-Mobile q10. Since the Verizon q10 has 2/4 LTE bands that the T-Mobile q10 has, and literally every other frequency matches, is it wrong to conclude that a Verizon q10 would work on T-Mobile with 2G,3G,4G and possibly even LTE capabilities?

The items underlined in yellow are the same, and the items underlined in red are the differences.(Besides CDMA frequencies which we do not care about)

So I am actually using my verizon q10 that I use with tmobile to enter this message.

The only thing I would tell you is that for me personally, I have yet to be able to connect to Tmobile's LTE network. I reviewed the band array for the SQN 100-2 and it seems to me it should work with tmobile's lte, however not luck so far.

Do you get more than edge!? Cause mine only gives me edge... can't get anything else. that's why I'm putting it for sale

I'm qualified to say so because I own a BlackBerry10 device

Yeah I usually see edge, and 4G(HSPA+), can't say I've ever seen my phone display 3G.

I live in upstate South Carolina, and I get 4G basically everywhere.

Any other thoughts? Verizon q10's seem to be much more abundant on craigslist

I have been using a Verizon Q10 exclusively on AT&T for a couple months and I have YET to get anything lower than 4G HSPA...but no LTE

Ugh, I didn't even think about this compatibility issue before I bought. I've had a tmo Z10 on tmo since day 1 and I know where and where I can't get tmo LTE. I bought a white vz q10 because I missed the keyboard and now I can also confirm I cannot get the tmo LTE with the vz q10. Its defiantly unavailable. I may have to trade in now but my problem is I really like the white color.

*Also the 2G, and 3G/4G (hspa+) work fine. But come on, LTE especially on tmo is sooo much faster! Defiantly a need!

So we still have conflicting info. Some say HSPA+ is possible, yet some only get edge? From the picture in the original post it seems that the only issue should be LTE.... EDGE and HSPA+ should work...

I have noticed though there are several areas I got really good 4G (hspa+) coverage on my Z and now with the Q they are EDGE. However I do still get 4G in some areas (just a lot less then I used to) Looking at the radio spec sheet closely it does show the Tmo Q as having the UMTS1700 MHz band and the VZ Q lacks it. I wonder if different cell towers on Tmo's network use different frequencies? That would explain not getting hspa+ in all areas it is.

I guess right now I lack the knowledge of how exactly the LTE and HSPA transmission works or how the phones really accept the signals, so its hard to say whether or not lacking 1 or 2 frequencies would render the whole set useless. But I suppose that some radio towers transmit some frequencies and other towers could transmit different frequencies.. So if you happen to live around a tower that transmits one of the few frequencies that the Verizon q10 doesn't accept, then it will appear as if you get only EDGE service. That's the only reason that I can think of why some people have limited HSPA connectivity and others have none. Does this make sense to anybody?

    Here is my Conclusion:
    T mobile LTE band 17 :700b MHz
Verizon LTE band 13: 700c MHz
Both belong to 700M family, but they are different.
so Verizon Q10 not works for T-mobile LTE sim.

Check the LTE band difference from Apple official page, not 700b & 700c
