I switched back to my Q10 after the official 10.2.1 update came out in hopes that the issue I had of when I added custom ringtones to my phone would randomly delete themselves from the phone. I am not using a MicroSD card, and the only media I have on the phone is these ringtones. I have already had the phone replaced under warranty and am still experiencing this issue.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Add a card? I have custom ringtones on my card and have loaded countless leaks and never lost a one yet. Maybe someone can tell you how to keep them on your device memory.

I keep them in device storage. Are you syncing media via Link, and then they disappear, or do you just lose the settings? Any profile management app installed?

No profile management software installed. No syncing either. The files stay on the phone, but the settings for the contact revert back to the default setting.

How many custom settings, what kind of formats, do some stay and some change? Only time I've had that, was after a destructive upgrade.

I am having the same problem, except that the I'm using an SD card. I'm running the latest leak but this problem also occurred using the previous leak.

Am I right in saying it's not that the media files are disappearing but the settings?

I used to have the problem where the custom profile would disappear randomly. I only had 2 or 3 custom profiles so it wasn't as of i was overloading the OS.

This was quite a while ago so some details may not be correct, and I'm not sure this is the whole explanation but it sounds plausible - at least to me. YMMV oh and it was with. 1055.

Basically what I found Was that if the customer profile conflicted with a global setting then the custom one would disappear. For example, at the time I wanted to have no vibrations or led in the normal profile, but for an important contact I wanted all alerts: sound, led and vibration. What's more, I wanted a double vibration for emails and sms. Apparently, this is not allowed.

What i ended up doing was to enable all alerts in the global profile then customize the email and sms applications (turning off vibe and led), then enabling them for the contact.

What i call the global settings are the "Normal", "Vibrate only", "Silent" profiles you see in the Notification app. I call the global but you could also call them default because they're what you get if you don't customize.

I'm having the same problem on my Z30 OS 10.2.1. Very annoying. I will reach out to BlackBerry to see if they are aware of this issue. The remedies suggested here di not work for me.
