Q10 user since July and it appears that my same contacts are now multiplying. first it was 2 now 3 now 4, i.e I now have the same identical contact in my BB10 contacts? Maybe I dont have one of the settings right but cant figure it out:
can anyone assist?
- how to set so it does not continue to happened
- a (quick) way to get rid of the duplicate contacts?

Check which address is being duplicated in all those cases. In my case it was Skype. Change manage contacts setting in that program, then just link the dupes together, so you don't lose anything. That's all I got

dear friend,
1.- did you program you email acoount so you have the contacts sync? that can be a issue,

2.- you can in contacts app, always go to your main source of contacts, ex: gmail contacts. local contacts and that will be it.

3.- if you have email contacts sync try to un check the email that can be causing that error, or check you email so you can merge duplicated contacts

Try to download IntouchApp or Contact X. Both of them already built in with 'delete duplicate contacts' features. Try to backup your contact and see if there's still duplicated contacts.

In my case it was What's App, And what's app have acknowledged the problem but they say it is the contacts app that causes issues, not What's App

It's really bad, I tried copying my contacts to SIM card and just not displaying any of the contacts from e-mail or other accounts. Whatever "linking" algorithm is horrible so I don't trust the Contacts app much, and I'm tired of housekeeping with it (PlayBook is almost as bad.)
