So I'm back again. About two weeks from purchasing a q10 and I'm doing a little research and read that you can't really change the apn. Is this true? Does this an I can't get one from Att unlock it and use it on ST? Does anyone currently use one on it?

    Hi there,

Editing APN settings are decide upon by carrier...if they chose to keep this feature locked it would be greyed out. Also, APN settings are pulled from the SIM card in use, so I don't think you should have any issues (calling the carrier or getting a sim replacement should do the trick as they will provision the sim card as necessary).

Would unlocking the phone allow me to change the apn then? And from what I read you have to create the apn for straight Talk because it's not pulled from the sim.

Not really, Mine's unlocked and the APN is still locked on my Q10. It really depends on the Carrier. Some users in the past installed leaked OS and got the ability to edit the APN while some on the same OS couldn't. When I first got my Z10, I was able to edit the APN while in the Caribbean (before launch of BB10 there) and after they launched it and sent out updates etc, I lost the ability to edit it!

There's another workaround many have resorted to that worked when all else failed. See the link for further information: How to access the engineering (Help Me!) screen on BlackBerry 10 | CrackBerry.com

Once you have access, go to General Radio and input your APN name

I use my z10 on straight talk! Change the apn using the Escreen like the other person said and enjoy paying $45 a month!
Straight talk is selling att micro Sims again as well.

I also use Q10 with AT&T micro sim. Changed the APN from the escreens and after installing the 10.2.1041 I was also able to adjust MMS apn (was locked with the stock OS).

    All working perfectly fine.

I just purchased an annual Red Pocket Mobile plan for use with my Blackberry Passport. This is GSMA/CDMA SIM Card plan that works with AT&T. I've got it set up and everything is working except for MMS and Mobile Hotspot. I tried to follow the instructions in this forum to adjust the MMS server settings in the APN section of Mobile Network as well as through the Text Message section of the Hub. Neither method is revealing the hidden APN field sections. I did some searching on the forums and found information about accessing the Engineering (Help Me!) screen as an alternative method to adjust the APN settings that are otherwise hidden. The problem with that help information is it links to a Dropbox Help file that is obsolete and missing. I'm unable to find that file anywhere so I'm unable to progress with that method. I was wondering if anyone has a copy of that file which is now a missing link or otherwise knows how to use the Engineering screen without that info? Or if you know of another method like a custom .bar application that can adjust those settings.
    Thank you for the help!
