My Q10 is nearly out of onboard device memory, so i've been trying to take off my ~1K pictures. I have it connected to Blackberry Link, I can see the photos in the Q10 tab on the left under 'Pictures'. If I right-click on them and go 'copy to desktop', it goes 'syncing' or preparing to sync' of a while, then nothing. The files don't show up on my desktop.

Sync to desktop is greyed out unless I choose folders instead of individual files, but even then it doesn't copy them to the desktop.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks
    Andy

Just use your PC file manager to manipulate your picture files (copy / delete).

I tried, but I can only access my memory card, not the onboard memory. It doesn't sshow up under Devices.

However, I will try it on a PC rather than a map and report back.

In Settings > Storage and Access do you have "USB Mass Storage" set to "On"? It must be set to "Off" if you have a SD Card inside your phone, but you want to see the internal memory of the device using a file manager on the PC.

Set it to "Off", disconnect the phone and connect it again.

Also Andy, you can try reconnecting your device but ensure that you wifi and data is off. The mobile radio can be on though.

Many of us have the problem wherein the device's internal or external memory doesn't show up until the wifi and the data is off.

    Hope it works for you.

You should be able to use the onboard file manager to cut and paste files/photos as well, if the computer doesn't work out.

I'm running 10.2.1.2941 on my Q10 and all I have is a popup for USB connection with 3 choices - autodetect, connect to windows and connect to mac. What version is yours? Oh and yes, I do have a media card (64GB) installed.

I am using a Z10 - OS Version 10.2.1.2141/ Software Release 10.2.1.2102. I thought it will be the same on other devices, but I just checked on a Q5 with the same OS Version as yours - OS Version 10.2.1.3175/ Software Release 10.2.1.2941 - and I get the same as you - "Autodetect", "Connect to Windows" and "Connect to Mac". Sorry, my fault for not checking on other devices. (I am using the Z much more these days).

You got to scroll all the way to the bottom of that and you'll see usb mass storage on/off - it is set to off by default
