I'm considering bidding on a used Q10 on eBay, but seller states that it's froms SASKTEL network, I assume in Canada or someplace else. Seller ignores whether phone can be unlocked or not. Does anyone know if such a phone could be activated on T-Mo or AT&T straight out of the box? Is there an unlock procedure to be done first? How difficult or easy is it to unlock? Cost?
Any information will be much apreciated.
    Stay cool...

Absolutely a Sasktel phone can be unlocked. Just double check (Google search whether it can be used on t-mobile) but I'm pretty sure there would be no issue. In Canada unlocking a q10 is about 30 bucks.

Thanks for the 411. I read on SASKTEL's website that you have to be a customer of theirs to get an unlock code for $50 bucks. Will they honor this if I bought the phone from a customer of theirs??
    Thanks a bunch.

no, they won't... you also need to make sure the frequencies are correct for you

Providing the poster has not used up all 10 of the unlock attempts, but yes, if they haven't Carjackd is absolutely correct.

You will have to use an online unlocking service which usually is around $20-40. Look for one that guarantees 100% success.

Blue raven is correct you will have to use an unlocking service on-line. More than likely Sak-twl would not honor it without an account to bill.just make sure you double check the frequency compatibility with your carrier and Sasktel devices.
