    Hi Guys,

    I live in China, and recently considering change my sim card to use 4G network. My Q10 is SQN100-3 from Hong Kong, and the operator I'm using - China Mobile - has 4G - TD-LTE at 1880 -1900 MHz、2320-2370 MHz、2575-2635 MHz;

According to the manual we have a little bit overlap. But lots of people are saying we can only use FDD not TD-LTE. I don't know anything about them...

Please advise can I get a card and use this 4G? Thanks a lot.

    Those are just duplex mode:

Time Division Duplexing (TDD) The communication is done using one frequency, but the time for transmitting and receiving is different. This method emulates full duplex communication using a half duplex link.

Frequency Division Duplexing (FDD) The communication is done using two frequencies and the transmitting and receiving of data is simultaneous

    Welcome to CrackBerry!

    Thanks for your reply!

But I am still confused, can I use it or not? Seems like they are just slightly different and in theory I can use it?

    Thanks

In theory yes you can use it, based on the infos from wikipedia, China Mobile is using the Bands 39,40 and 41 and the mobiles operators in Hong Kong are using the Bands 3,7 and 40. the Band 40 is used on both sides.

Think this is correct, check on BlackBerry website:

    SQN100-3

    2G NetworkGSM/EDGE
    Quad 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 mhz

    3G Network HSPA+ 1,2,5/6,8
    Quad 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100 mhz

    4G Network LTE 3,5,7,8,20
    Penta 800 / 850 / 900 / 1800 / 2600 mhz

Match up with your carrier which they use and in what areas of country they use them.

No why, China mobile uses its very unique 4G which BlackBerry doesn't support, period.

You need to buy phones directly from China Mobile in order to use their 4G, or else you are out of luck using edge.

Hope this is simple enough for you

    Hi there,

There are multiple ways to top up, but none of them in English as far as I know. I would like to help you, send me a PM, then I can show you.

Hmmm. I can't find your profile. Maybe best to post it here so others can see the solution / option to this.

No you can't use China Mobile 3G/4G network with Q10, instead you can switch to use China Unicom, their 3G/4G are full supported by Q10. If you don't mind change your number.

I have used my Q10 in China in 4G with China Unicom. I believe China Mobile's 4G is not supported with the Q10. China Unicom has excellent voice service all over china, but their 4G coverage areas are limited. It works well in Beijing; not well in Guangzhou, and not at all in Nanjing, for instance.

No you cannot use 3g. I am in china as well and I have been here for 4 months. No can do. Sucks but at least we can still use internet on your phone but it will be the gsm type.
