I'm having problems with my battery dying really quickly and I was hoping some of you may be able to help.

The first time it died was overnight. I left it at 95% with a couple of alarms on and then went to bed. Obviously those alarms never went off as it died some time after 4am. After that's it's been charging very slowly. I charged it for about an hour and it got to about 22% then I turned off the charger and it died again and was refusing to turn on. I'm having to charge it through my laptop right now as it doesn't view the charger that came with my phone as an official blackberry charger. It's saying it's going to take around 9 hours to reach fully charged at the moment. The first time only the clock app was open. The second time no apps were open.

I have included a second picture showing what processes have been taking up the most batter life in the past 24 hours and the main one is system at 92%.

    Thanks

Also anyone got any idea about the charger not being recognised as official? It was happening on my q5 which was pretty broken so I thought it was just a problem with that, however it's also doing it on my q10(bought second hand to replace q5)

Are you able to connect with BlackBerry Link? If yes than make a full backup and reload the OS through BlackBerry Link. Maybe it will solve your problem

Have you installed any recent applications to cause this?

It's not hot or laggy. I restored from a back afew days and it was running fine for a few days then suddenly it's gotten really bad. I'm not even using it just leaving it in standby and it's draining fast. I'm currently charging it with my laptop and the laptop went to sleep and it's dropped from around 46% to 21% in about an hour without being used.

It's also stating that it will take about 11 hours to fully charge

    - Tap System in your Device Monitor under the Battery tab so we can see in details what's going on.

    - Is it the same charger you used with your Q5 or a brand new one ?

    - How old is the battery ? Can you check for bumps ?

    - Use a pen eraser on both battery and case golden connectors. Add a piece of plastic/foam at the bottom of your battery, so both connectors are pushed to each other. And try charging again. If you can't use your charger, unplug all USB devices from your computer before using the USB cable provided by BlackBerry. Don't use the phone while charging.

Ok, you've just had a ~50% CPU peak usage on Sunday midnight. Other metrics are Ok. Don't be alarm by the 137%, it depends on what other "apps" you used, look at the ordinate in the details graphs first

So, when did you update your phone last ? You know that it needs time to settle. If you reload your OS or update it in the last week's, this behaviour can be Ok.

Next, did you enable encryption on the device or for the SD card ? It takes time to encrypt and your phone will do it at full speed when you're not using it.

Last but not least, after checking all the steps of my previous post, it might be time to reset the battery estimated time left. But previous step first

That's sick man! I never reach those peaks even I watch documentary and art films on my Q before sleeping. Sometimes I fell asleep while these films still playin but doesnt drain my battery that much. Best part is I can continue watching upon waking up the next day.

What were u doing and what apps do use? There might be some app u left opened that eats up your battery. How many alarms u have set up?

Your peak usage period as per the graph indicate you might have some apps doing all their updates at around midnight every day. Check those, using bedside mode at night also reduces energy consumption.
