My 3 week old Q10 purchased from Blackberry.com started making this annoying creaking noise whenever you typed as the pressure from you holding it caused some of the plastic bits to rub against each other on the back cover to the frame.

It made me not want to use my Q10. I decided to pick-up a replica on ebay for $15 mistakenly thinking it was an OEM part (very poor description). Quick shipment. Put it on yesterday. Zero creaks.

I compared them side-by-side (original v. replica) and I got give it up to their attn to detail. You can still tell the differences in the rubbery feel, but visually, hard to separate.

I did still order an OEM cover from crackberry for double the price so we'll see if the factory version also gets rid of the annoying sound.

I didn't test the NFC as I never use it anyways. The metal contacts do look a bit diff (less shiny).

Blackberry Q10 Black Battery Door Back Cover Replacement NFC Included New | eBay

Notice the description. Doesn't clearly state "replica" or "generic" or "aftermarket" item. Fits great, though!

Photos don't reveal much, but I did a close visual inspection and even the rubbery matte finish matches the top section on back of Q10 phone. The main diff is the metal contacts and the actual rubbery feel on your hand. The aftermarket one I bought is grippier.

If the aftermarket one is grippier, I'm getting it too!

I am curious if the BlackBerry one also gets rid of the squeak. I have to use tape on my battery now to make it feel solid.

If it were OEM, wouldn't it say OEM? It might just be a really good copy. I'd email the seller
