There are many things that BBRY could have done or could make it easier and/or incentivized/compensated companies or app developers for making apps work on its devices. The starting point is to make sure they have an operating system that will work with the majority of apps. They clearly didn't do that. The result is that they are a "lone wolf" in terms of App protocol and few people or companies are going to adapt their apps to cater to the Blackberry market with such a small and dwindling customer base. Obviously, it wasn't a very good decision in retrospect and I haven't seen BBRY do anything to compensate companies/App developers for making Apps work on BBRY devices. So, we're basically shut out, left with a device that's increasingly less functional.

Have you written an app for BB10? Are you a developer? BB10 development tools don't limit what developers can write. So your comment

shows a lack of understanding about app development. You don't write an OS to work with apps. You write an OS and provide tools that allow for full feature apps on the platform. Blackberry have done this. And programming for a living and working on all platforms except Windows Phone, BB10 development tools for mobile app development are better than the others out there. You can't force developers to write for a platform and you can't write a companies apps without their permission. Blackberry has done all it can do.

All talk and no ideas from that guy. Most apps are from 3rd party developers. Maybe he can write a bank app?

So are you saying that Blackberry should write BB10 banking applications without the permission of the banks?

I think the problem is that BB is not seen as being cool. Are popular. why waste your time writing Apps for a phone that hardly sells. after all we all have iPhone or Android don't we!
