I purchased and downloaded BlackBerry Radio from BlackBerry World.

I am having issues with it. I cannot see the menu to pick from genres. It is on "hip hop" and even though I can allegedly open the stations and the screen says "playing Crappy Hip Hop" I can't hear anything. I have deleted it and reinstalled it two or three times, each time I get the same result. Ideas? Suggestions? or did I just get taken for my hard-earned $3?

    Hello.
Wow! I did not even know there was a BlackBerry radio. What OS are you running on your phone?

Check out Radio for BlackBerry in BlackBerry World! You can find it at http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/8102

Is this what you're talking about, OP? If so, the name (or rather, the order of the words in the name) that you posted is very important... This app is not provided by BlackBerry themselves but a third-party app dev.

But, seeing as you have a Q10 and may be running a high enough OS version, you could be referring to the radio service available to all BB10 devices (other than the Z10) via the build-in FM radio antenna and added UI in the Music app, which is free AFAIK.

So a little clarification would go a long way to helping you out.

Yes. That is the app. Sorry for the wording. Any ideas? Will putting on earbuds open the menu?

I personally don't have the app so I can't tell you what my experience is, but if you have earbuds/headphones lying around I'd definitely check that to see if the sound works with them plugged in.

If not, do you have any trouble with sound from other apps? I think the next best step for you is to try to contact the dev via their email address listed in BlackBerry World to describe your issue to them so that they can troubleshoot with you. Several devs in BlackBerry World are receptive to customer concerns so hopefully you hear a reply.

There are plenty other apps like this, try tunein radio free version. See if that works.
All these apps do is catalogue lots of internet radio stations you could listen to through the browser. Some pay for apps also provide record function.
Listening to radio this way will use your data allowance if not over wifi.
