Simple: they want an uniform experience across for their app. They don't want half working apps on certain device.

Lots of app developers goes this way nowadays. Why do you think facebook removed the API allowing BB10 to have their own facebook app?

This is could be a point, yes. But if there are so many developers, who choose this way, than please tell me some. I actually know just one: Snapchat and I don't know the background for this app because I don't use it.

It is a difference if you block something or if you stop providing an API.

Facebook wants your personal informations and not for any third party developers and providing an API has some costs, you only invest, if you see a benefit. There is no benefit providing an API for OS10 because nobody uses it anymore. So why should they provide an API at all?

I made a Tasker profile which will forward every whatsapp message from an android phone via email (to your BB).

I made this because I have got an old android phone which I leave at home connected to my WiFi. It can now forward messages to me without having WA installed on my Q10.

I can keep on reading messages (if someone tries to get in contact or for any other reason) . It would also be possible to filter, e.g. forward only messages from specific contacts (girlfriend, co-workers,....).

I then respond via text message or call.
