Voice-mail shortcut doesn't work. It is assigned and active to key "1" but every time I press it it searches for **** thinking I'm typing something that starts with the letter "w" (which is same key as "1").

Am I missing something? Am I going crazy? Any suggestions? Please help.

You need to be in the phone app when holding the 1 button. At least that's how it works for me.

There are several ways of accessing the voice mail:

1. you have to be on the phone app. Tap the phone icon on the lower left corner of your screen. Scroll up to access the upper portion of the screen. You will see the voice mail icon. Tap it to access your voicemail.

2. While on the phone app, tap on the dial pad on your screen. Now, long press 1 on your actual keyboard, not on the virtual keyboard.

3. While on the phone app, tap on VVM on top of your screen to access visual voice mail.

It worked like that. So much for a "shortcut" when you have to be on the phone app, then tap on dial pad, then long press 1 on physical keyboard not the virtual dial pad (why even go to virtual dial pad in the first place if its futile for voice-mail shortcut purposes?). So I guess there's no other shortcut (e.g. long pressing 1) outside of phone app?
