From what I understand it'll be priced lower. There are some SIM free dealers in the UK taking orders at about $800 US but that's no reflection of what the actual retail price will be there nor what it'll translate into once it gets over here. But everything I've heard suggests lower than the Z10.

I would not expect the q10 to be cheaper at all, most of the specs are the same other than the display and the materials are going to tend to be more expensive than those in the z10 to offset any price difference in the display if there even is any.

I assumed the pricing would be similar if not the same. I am surprised people are hearing that it will be more expensive.

In Romania it can be pre-ordered for $794, that's $35 more than the current price of the Z10 at the same online store (see http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...omania-787452/).

This doesn't mean that the price will stay at this level after launch. If I remember correctly, the Z10 was at first offered at a higher price for pre-order at the same store (approximately $850, I believe, or $100 more than the current price).

If this is the case (pre-order price to be about $100 more than the price after launch for both devices) - and I believe it is, Q10 should go for approximately $50 less than the Z10.

P.S. To be honest, I find this pricing a little strange, because the specs are very similar and Q10 has a bigger battery. I don't know the cost of the screen used, perhaps it is a lot cheaper than the one on the Z10 and more than compensates for the added physical keyboard.

Z10 was the flagship when it was released. That may change when the Q10 comes out.

the q 10 is also a flagship since it replaces the bold another flagship device so both are flagship until the lower end bb10 devices are shipped

Here in Germany, carrier o2 DE just announced the Q10 for "May" availability. First offers of online retailers are also appearing, stating "Early May" as the release - you can only pre-order it. I start questioning the "global" release for April.
Besides the release words, we still do not even have any words on official accessories for the Q10. Still no leaks either. Compare that with the Z10 (pre-)launch, were all kind of cases and holsters have been pictured. Right now there is not even a simple holster officially announced nor caught on picture.

Just had a look almost �600 to buy sim free! Amazingly high price. How is it that the Q10 is around �100 more expensive than the z10? Granted it has pretty good specs for a qwerty phone but still. I guess many will go the upgrade/contract route to acquire this phone.

Said it in another thread about this phone.....far far too expensive. As much as I wanted to stick with BB, (maybe I'm just a sucker for the underdog?), I cant justify the extra expense over something like the Nexus 4, (no way am I going with the fruit). Shame as Ive had BB's for years and years.
