I suspect the USB function in my device is corrupted as it is not recognized by any computer at all.

    Not detected through blackberry link.

Not detected through enabled mass storage mode.

But on the device itself it says it's connected under 'Connectivity Services' in network connections - so it can't be the cable right?

Security wipe doesn't solve the problem either.

If I'm right and the Q10 memory is corrupted in some way, I'd like to do a factory reset it. But that would require use of the USB.

I can connect to a computer via WiFi; but USB is what I want.

Thank you very much for the reply. Unfortunately this solution was unsuccessful. I've decided to officially give up with a software related solution. Perhaps I'll find a second hand bbq10 and swap out the motherboard.

You're welcome! I'd try both ebay and Amazon (used Q10 phones), I'm sure something will come up.

I figured out what the problem was. Faulty usb cable with weak power transfer. All good now with a new cable that has the BB logo on it.
