Alas, it wasn't meant to be. I swapped in the replacement keyboard in, ordered from easyworldwidetrading (EWWT in EBay) for $15.

This keyboard was obviously a used part, and double typed even worse than the one it replaced. It even has a hypersensitive H key! I'll post from it so you can see how hilariously bad it is.

Best not to order from those guys; don't say I didn't warn you.

You might wanna attempt this method. I've done it and my double type as well as hypersensitive issue is gone.

Thanks brother! I will give it a whirl tomorrow, or on the weekend, and let you know how it goes.

Thanks for identifying the vendor. I've noticed that a lot of the keyboards have sticker residue on the back -- they're clearly used.

I tried this. I am having trouble getting the keyboard backing to snap back on tightly, which is rendering the keyboard even worse than before. How did you get it back together?

You have to firmly squeeze the keyboard at the points where the little snaps meet

I've had my Q10 for 2 months or so and I love the keyboard but now it's really starting to irritate me. About a week ago, some letters would start double typing here and there - not often but it was noticeable but now it's becomes much more prevalent. Totally pissed off about this.

Yes. In my opinion, this is BlackBerry's worst fail. Ironically, less negligent blunders cost the company much more. This, they seem to be able to sweep under the rug. Perhaps because the Q had so few users to begin with.

Well, after yet another Q10 arrived by FedEx about six weeks ago, perhaps eight, there are subtle hints of the dreaded double typing rearing its ugly head.

And this phone, the most recent in a line of Q10's, seems to be exhibiting horrendous battery life: lucky to make it through a day. Also, the sensitivity on the screen is sub par, it takes about 3 hours to perform a back up, syncing is troublesome to say the least, BBM often freezes or I am unable to click on some chats and contacts, and profiles are changing randomly....

If I didn't like the size and physical keyboard so much . . . .

Not to trivialize the problem or anyone's bank accounts... any serious users who are sticking with BlackBerry despite the disgraceful way they are handling this defect need to switch to a Passport or Classic.

Apologies - fail to understand the first half of your comment.

As for the second half regarding Passport or Classic, I think it inapplicable to a great many Q10 users. It ignores the issues of size, compactness, weight, removable battery, the appreciation of BB10 and no need for the tool belt. And of course, obviously fails to acknowledge BB's culpability . . .

Believe me, I am as disgusted with the way BlackBerry "handled" this as anyone.

I am just saying that the problem obviously isn't going away. So, notwithstanding the objections you raise, and the one of cost which I alluded to, if one is sticking with BlackBerry and wishes to remain productive, it is time to move on.

I have had this issue for a while, mostly on my a, o, and y keys. My simple fix was just to go to "word substitution" and add all my letter doubles to auto correct so now if I type "aa" it changes to "a". Also I added the most common words I use that would always double type like "tooday" now auto changes to "today"

It has helped enough with most of my doubles. I hope it helps someone here!

What happens when you want double O's? Does it autocorrect them away (like turning 'good' to 'god')?

Sorry, I am not sure how to reply directly shuswap. No. It still let's me type stuff like too fine, but if I type just "oo" it changes it to "o" so I could say baa but not "aa". It seems like a lot but I just changed the most common words I use not all a words. So I didn't change flamingo and stuff. Just and, also, say, etc.

I'm having the same issue, it started about a month ago, well after I had updated to the most recent OS upgrade. I think it's a hardware issue. Maybe a good excuse to get the Classic that I really want
